![]() But, with most things in life (not including ice cream or free money), Facebook Blueprint has its pros and cons… Pro: it’s official! The website makes it easy to get started, too, by allowing you to filter courses according to your unique business goals. Blueprint offers courses in the following topics: One major perk is that Facebook owns Instagram, so you're actually getting in-depth training on how to advertise with two social media giants via one certifictaion. Just like a housing blueprint walks you through the steps of building a house, Facebook Blueprint takes you step-by-step through the process of creating impactful social campaigns for your brand. To earn your Blueprint Certificate, you need to complete several e-courses and pass three tests: the Core Competencies, Certified Buying and Certified Planning exams. The Facebook exam does this too but nowhere near the scale of AdWords.Blueprint is Facebook’s set of online courses and exams that educate and test marketers on the ins and outs of advertising with the social media giant. Something that annoys me to no end is how the AdWords exam would give you a scenario question and all 4 answers would be right, but you had to find the answer that was MORE right. It has been a while since I took the AdWords exam but both ask similar questions (technical and theoretical). I was previously cranking out cookie cutter WordPress sites and wanted to get into something more exciting.įorgive me for the stupid question but am i right in assuming the content is very similar to google: really understanding and applying their paid ads system for your clients? ![]() This was a good first step for me and it allowed me to create more " freedom of maneuver" at my job. I am not a full time Social Media marketer but I would like to establish myself as a subject matter expert on it one day. Getting certified was a way for me to communicate with management that I know what I am talking about. My question is what benefit does the facebook cert offer if someone isnt a fulltime Social Media Marketer? For instance, since I only intended on taking the Buying Professional certification, I ignored the entire Planning Professional eLearning modules, big mistake. I highly recommend you take all the modules because there will be some overlap between them. Some people I have talked to said it took them a week.įor studying I only used their eLearning modules here You need a minimum score of 700 on both tests to become certified, and it took me 48 hours to receive my digital badge. Facebook is actively avoiding this pitfall by making their tests as rigorous and truthful as possible. I am cynical to the point if someone tells me they are Google AdWords certified I immediately think they just looked up the answers to the test. It was honestly a little uncomfortable but overall I like Facebook's process because they want their certifications to have value. DO NOT USE YOUR IMAC OR A DESKTOP WITH A BUILT IN WEBCAM, YOU WILL BE EXPECTED TO SCAN YOUR ENTIRE TESTING ENVIRONMENT AND PICKING UP UP AN IMAC TO SHOW THE PROCTOR YOUR ROOM IS A BAD IDEA (use your laptop or a USB webcam). You cannot see the proctor, you'll only hear him. ![]() They will check everything from your desk, to the ceilings, and even ask you to roll up your sleeves. When you load up the test your webcam will connect to a proctor who will ask you to take your webcam and do a room scan. Take the test when you are home alone, anyone who walks in your room can lead to disqualification. That means the only thing on your desk should be a laptop, a glass of water is forbidden. They are very serious about taking the exam on a sanitized desktop. When you register for the exam Facebook will send you a list of instructions on how to prep your test environment- READ IT. When you take the exam you'll have to download a program that takes over your computer and your webcam must be on at all times so the online proctors can see you. Whereas the Google AdWords exam is a complete joke and easy to cheat on, Facebook has taken a different route and is making the test as "cheat-proof" as possible. ![]() I chose the online route because it was easier for me. Facebook allows you to take the exam online or in pre-approved testing center. I took both exams in one sitting and it took me about 3 hours to complete. Each exam costs $150, so you'll be expected to shell out $300 to become fully certified (prices are adjusted on less developed countries I believe). To become certified you need to pass 2 exams, a basic "core competencies" exam and then 1 of 2 options a "Buying Professional" or "Planning Professional" track. It is a new exam and there is not a lot of "inside" information about it. I'm not posting this to brag, but I'm leaving it open for discussion or PMs for anyone interested in taking it. Last month I passed both the core competencies exam and the Buying Professional exam to earn my certification.
